Abloom

It’s May. The garden is lovely, and I’m in a peachy mood. I created a palette (right) of corals and pale pinks—many mixed with pearl clay for its luster, and some by tinting translucent clay. From this palette I cut beads from three colors (coral, pale salmon, and blush pink) and then placed a leaf and two blossoms on each bead. The result? Nine pairs of perfectly luscious earrings.

The short video at the bottom of this page will give you a glimpse into my studio, and you can learn more about the meticulous process of creating these pretty floral beads.

A morning in my sunny studio.

From rolling out the clay, to cutting the beads, to forming and affixing blossoms and leaves, to beads ready for the oven. All in 46 seconds!
