Ginkgo Gray

Ginkgo biloba trees have been described as “living fossils” — virtually unchanged in more than 200 million years. As a single species with no living relatives, they are also botanically unique. With this inspiration, I decided to create one-of-a-kind Ginkgo Leaf beads from polymer clay. Then I started incorporating metal leaf, and things got pretty fanciful.

I created three color palettes: ivory clay with gold leaf; pearly gray clay with silver leaf; and white clay with copper leaf. Thus, prehistoric ginkgo leaves have evolved with imaginative style into earrings and necklaces! This page shows the gray and silver jewelry. Click to the next page for the ivory/gold and white/copper gray collections.
