Ginkgo
Ginkgo biloba trees have been described as “living fossils” — virtually unchanged in more than 200 million years. As a single species with no living relatives, they are also botanically unique. With this inspiration, I decided to create one-of-a-kind Ginkgo Leaf beads from polymer clay. Then I started incorporating metal leaf, and things got pretty fanciful.
I created three color palettes: ivory clay with gold leaf; pearly gray clay with silver leaf; and white clay with copper leaf. Thus, prehistoric ginkgo leaves have evolved with imaginative style into earrings and necklaces! This page shows the ivory/gold and white/copper collections.
