Seashell
As I created these beads, the patterns and colors spoke to me of seashells. When a visiting friend said the same thing, I knew I had the right name for my new collection.
The beads display luscious pinks and peaches, with gold and coppery accents. I used two polymer clay techniques. The design that looks most like seashells was created using clay painted with metallic acrylics, then torn and reassembled. The shimmery peachy design resulted from a Mokume-gane method incorporating copper leaf. A resin finish brings out the depth and shine in these beads. Pendants are black on the back side, while earring beads are peachy-tan on the back.
Most of this collection has been sold, but there are a few treasures remaining: simply strung necklaces featuring fabulous pendants, a couple of pretty beaded bracelets, and two pairs of tempting earrings. Each piece of jewelry is unique and lovely!
Note: Because I loved this Seashell Collection so much, and most of the pieces have been sold, I decided to make an updated collection. See my Seashell Revisited Collection for an exciting new selection of necklaces, bracelets, and earrings.
